The Magnum Foundation and the Inge Morath Foundation announce the tenth annual Inge Morath Award. The annual prize of $5,000 is awarded by the Magnum Foundation to a female documentary photographer under the age of 30, to support the completion of a long-term documentary project. One award winner and up to two finalists are selected by a jury composed of Magnum photographers.

Studio Voltaire is restructuring its internship programme; previous programmes will be replaced with a 4-month internship to be repeated 4 times a year.

The new programme is designed to provide a more in-depth training for candidates interested in arts production and management. The position is ideal for a recent graduate or final year arts student who is interested in gallery operations and non-profit arts organisations.

The Intern will work with the Artistic Director, General Manager and Programme Assistant contributing to the day-to-day running of the gallery and programme of events and exhibitions. The position will involve working on office administration, gallery management, archiving, invigilation, installation and assisting with events on and off-site.

Essential skills required for the post include: administration and MAC proficiency, excellent verbal and written communication, fluency in English and a contemporary art background. Successful candidates will be pro-active with good team skills. They will provide evidence of reliability and a desire to expand their knowledge and passion for the arts.

Conditions of the programme:

Successful candidates will be required to work three days a week, including Saturdays during exhibition time. The position runs for a four-month period. Although the position is a voluntary position, travel (within London) and lunch expenses will be covered and Saturday invigilation work is paid £40 per day.

Previous formats have included exhibitions, roundtable discussions, soapboxes, film screenings, walks, presentations, book and project launches. 2. No time / absence of time.
Absence of time in the philosophical, physical or subjective sense.
Time and value: the handling of time, socially critical or analytical works.

3. Symbolisation of the subjective experience and perception of time.

The focus of the G.A.S-station project Keine Z E I T – No T I M E is the juxtaposition of different medial and formal approaches.

Therefore, we welcome artistic contributions of all sorts - filmlets, installations, plastic & fine arts, performances, literature, music as well as scientific contributions, presentations, lectures or accompanying texts concerning the subject.

Keine Z E I T – No T I M E will be our fourth interdisciplinary exposition after eMOTION 2008-2009, CHAOS 2009-2010 and Das DING – THING 2010-2011. We are looking for an artist or curator with a significant production within contemporary art, who has the qualifications and interest in working within the Profile of the Academy and who has the qualifications and interest in realizing and chair the Master Programme in Contemporary Art. The Door Prize - For Painting, Bristol, UK

The Door Prize is an art competition exclusively for painters, providing a unique and affordable opportunity for both students and practicing artists to exhibit their work in a major exhibition in the UK.

The voluntarily run project, directed by Antria Pelekanou (co-director of ‘Persona Art Festival’ and chief curator of ‘A Moving Exhibition’) will run from 3-17 March 2012 at the Nails Gallery in Bristol city centre. The initiative of this project is to enhance the experience of Bristol’s residents and visitors, building on Bristol’s reputation as a cultural and creative city.

With leading institutions such as Spike Island and Arnolfini boosting Bristol's art scene, we aim to invite artists from all over the globe to visit Bristol, showcase their artwork, and further enhance the vibrant scene the city has to offer. There are many free annual cultural events held in Bristol such as the Bristol Balloon Festival, BrisFest and Open Studios at Jamaica Street Artists to name a few. We believe that The Door Prize will be a great addition to the calendar, providing the public with an exciting opportunity to get involved with the arts. All visitors to The Door Prize group exhibition will be encouraged to vote for their favourite painting on the opening, guaranteeing an engaging and entertaining experience.

The works will be selected by a combination of the judging panel and the public vote. The winner of The Door Prize will receive an award specially commissioned from London based artist Desiree Ickerodt, and a Solo exhibition. Along with the prestige of being the winner of the first Door Prize, the winner will also be given a rare opportunity to become actively involved in the judging process of The Door Prize 2013. In addition to the winner, there will be two runners up who will both receive a free designed publication including a selected part of their portfolio. One of the two runners up will be commissioned to create the 2013 Door Prize award.

In a celebration of painting as one of the most recognised and respected art forms, the competition opens the Door to the public and there can only be one winner.

Himalayas art Museum（Shanghai) is launching a call for submissions for its new logo design. However, the museum is not simply searching for a logo design, but for your vision for the future of the institution. What are your hopes and desires? What challenges do you think we will face? These are the questions we must ask as we move forward in new directions. Thus, we hope to have a logo that will adequately transmit this vision of a new institutional format in a global context.

Designers, artists, critics, curators, and cultural practitioners of all kinds are welcome to submit proposals.

I. Submission Details:
a. Submission of Logo design for Himalayas Art Museum
b. Requirements:
i. Eye-catching, simple, original and creative; no restrictions as to the color scheme
ii. With rich cultural implications, and easily popularized around the world to promote the Museum's image
iii. Easy application to the Museum's various artistic derivatives

II. The Logo Design Prize:
a. Once the logo design is chosen, the winner will be awarded a generous prize package.
b. If the winner is based outside of China, the prize package will include a cash prize of 10,000 EUR, round trip airfare to and from Shanghai, and 5 nights at a hotel in Shanghai with an opportunity to show his/her works at the Himalayas Art Museum in 2012, as well as the opportunity to participate in the artist residence program hosted by Himalayas Art Museum.
c. For the winner who is based in China, he/she may choose Prize Package A or B:
i. Prize Package A includes a prize of 10,000 EUR, round trip airfare to and from Nepal, with 5 nights accommodation, and an opportunity to show his/her works at Himalayas Art Museum in 2012, as well as the opportunity to participate in the artist residence program hosted by Himalayas Art Museum.
ii. Prize Package B includes a prize of 10,000 EUR, round trip airfare to and from Finland (World Design Capital Helsinki 2012), with 5 nights accommodation, and an opportunity to show his/her works at Himalayas Art Museum in 2012, as well as the opportunity to participate in the artist residence program hosted by Himalayas Art Museum.

Notting Hill Mayfest is a programme of events across St. John’s and St. Peter’s Church taking place from the 14th May until the 2nd June 2011. Now in its 9th year, our aim is to inspire and bring together people of all ages, faiths and ethnicities and provide a platform for emerging artistic talent.
We offer a rich and varied selection of music as well as a Mayfair and an art exhibition. The festival takes pride in supporting relatively unknown but highly promising artists, hoping to give their careers the boost they may need.
We are calling for artists working in 2D, 3D, photography and installation to exhibit in St. John’s gallery space throughout the festival. The exhibition will showcase an eclectic mix of artworks and celebrate cultural and artistic diversity; we welcome submissions from student, amateur and professional artists – there is no criteria!
This is a unique opportunity to expose your work to a dynamic and vibrant community; the festival will be marketed widely and with a jam-packed programme of events and concerts taking place in the church, we anticipate large visitor numbers.

There will be a submission fee of £10 per artwork. Any sales will be the responsibility of the exhibitor. No commission will be taken by Mayfest.

The Kala Fellowship award is an international competition open to artists from the U.S. and around the world.  Artists producing innovative work in book arts, electronic/digital media (video, sound, animation, etc.), installation art, photography and printmaking are encouraged to apply.
Fellowship Awards will be given based on conceptual creativity, originality and artistic excellence as well as technical knowledge.

NARS Foundation International Artist Residency Program

Season II deadline has been extended to April 29, 2011

The NARS Foundation, a not-for-profit arts organization founded in 2006 and based in Brooklyn, awards Full and Partial Residential Grants for up to twelve months. We seek applications on two levels. The first level includes emerging and mid-career artists, for whom appointments as resident artists might make a significant impact on their careers. The second level consists of artists with established national and/or international reputations for whom a change of environment may offer refreshment and inspiration.

For 2011 Season II, the NARS Foundation International Artist Residency Program will only offer full and partial grants for six month residencies to US-based artists only.

Application Deadline: April 15th, 2011 (Applications must be delivered to the office by April 15, 2011, 5pm)

Deadline for the NARS International Artist Residency Program 2012 Season I (for both US-based and international artists) is July 15, 2011. The guidelines and applications will be available after April 15, 2011.
