temporarycontemporary presents a 1912 Police station with period features, inc studios with bay windows, parquet floors (interview room, sector office etc), all decent height. It’s a great building; there’s a large yard with lorry access for on-site parking, working outside, events, and a venue for hire, the Police Gym and Prison Cells, which can be used for exhibition, photo shoots, music and rehearsals.

We will make a hang-out snack lounge with wireless internet in the communal Police Booking Office area for studio members and in the future the gallery space could have some kind of curated programme - our approach to this monolithic Arts & Craft facility is that, in addition to just studios, there will be a constant activity creating the sense of a DIY Art Centre.

The building is very well located and is on the same street as New Cross Station, 5 mins walk to Deptford High Street and 15 to Goldsmiths. Studios will open mid Dec – Jan. Launch party in Jan, poss New Year’s Eve party... Applications invited now. Guide price is £12/sqft+utilities.
