East End Academy 2009, Whitechapel Gallery, London

The East End Academy is an open submission exhibition showcasing the work of emerging and established artists from East London that takes place every three years. First held in 1932, the latest edition is devoted to painting and will run from 9 July to 20 September 2009.
The selected artists will have the opportunity to exhibit their work across the ground floor gallery (approx 250 square metres).
East End Academy 2009 is open to all artists who work with paint, who are not currently in education and who live or work in one of the following postal districts: EC1-4, E1-18. We particularly welcome applicants from black and minority ethnic communities and people with disabilities.

Fee
The application fee is of £20 per entrant, which goes towards the costs of administration. The application will not be viewed unless payment is received. This is non-refundable.
