Gallery Operations Manager, Frith Street Gallery, London

Frith Street Gallery seeks an experienced Gallery Operations Manager to coordinate all aspects of exhibition and art fair installation, manage storage, and prepare artwork for transport. This position is also responsible for gallery and building maintenance.
Responsibilities
• Manage installations for at least six gallery exhibitions and three international art fairs per year plus two viewing rooms and temporary off-site locations
• Hire and supervise outside technicians for gallery exhibitions and art fairs
• Organise and maintain on-site stock room and prepare condition reports
• Construct suitable packaging for air/sea/road shipping and gallery storage
• Work with computerized inventory
• Document, label and catalogue artworks
• Ensure high standards of gallery and building maintenance
• Coordinate and manage service contracts including, security, air conditioning/heating, etc.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years senior museum or gallery technical and facility management experience in a supervisory role. Must have strong fabrication skills and experience installing audio and visual equipment and large scale, demanding exhibitions. This person must be able to work to tight deadlines and be able to interact effectively with all departments of the gallery. Attention to detail and care when handling artwork is essential. Must have good problem solving skills and a be able to contribute to installation planning with creative ideas.
Must have good IT skills and be familiar with a professional art database system (ArtForm preferably). Experience in the management of external contractors and building maintenance preferred. Familiarity with 16mm film desirable.
Contract: Permanent, 4-5 days per week
